About EEE Department

About EEE Dept.

The Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department, established in the year 2002, has been well structured, in terms of experienced staff and state of the art laboratory facilities.

Its aim is to

    • Equip the students with knowledge of cutting edge technologies
    • Give them adequate hands-on experience through laboratory work, innovative projects in Industry and Research Establishments, seminars/workshops etc.

The department is accredited by NBA. It is offering bothB.Tech (EEE)andM.Tech (Power Electronics)programmes with an annual intake of 120 and 18 respectively and providing outstanding facilities for all the students to learn innovative technologies.

B.Tech (Electrical and Electronics Engineering)

Electricity has become the basic need for survival of human beings globally. From household to industrial plants, communication and satellite navigation system, electronic equipment, computers etc., all require electricity.

Electrical and Electronics Engineering is one of the core fields of engineering, always evergreen in terms of scope and job prospects and is multi-disciplinary in nature, representing a veritable synergy of different technologies ranging from Artificial Neural Networks, Fuzzy Logic, Micro-Controllers, Digital Signal Processing and VLSI Design to core subjects of Generation, Transmission and Distribution of power, Power System Operation & Control, Electrical Machines and Power Electronics and their control using computer methods etc.

In real life Electrical Engineers end up doing a very interesting and wide range of activities. Electrical Engineers are expected to have fantastic time with a rapid employment growth in the coming decade. There is a strong demand for Electrical Engineers in almost all industrial sectors.

M.Tech (Power Electronics)

Power electronics is one of the broadest growing electrical technologies. Today, electronic energy processing circuits are needed for every computer system, every digital product, industrial systems of all types and just about every possible application of electricity.

The need for the study of power electronics is:First, Power electronic circuits and systems are the basic energy blocks needed for things that move, light up, cook a meal, or display information on a video monitor. Second, since power processing is needed just about everywhere, there are few areas with more variety of design tasks. Third, because it makes use of all a student’s knowledge of electrical engineering, and aims at a new level of understanding.

Power Electronics masters can expect a phenomenal increase in opportunities in power electronics. At present, there is a shortage of trained/ experienced power electronics engineers. In the present energy scenario, there is a great demand for power electronics engineers.
