Rational Application Development (RAD) 6.0
This course is intended for developers who are already familiar with J2EE Web application development, and wish to understand the capabilities of IBM Rational Application Developer for WebSphere Software V6 for developing such applications. The course explores the tools used to create, test, debug, and package J2EE Web applications, including the wizards used to create servlets, HTML pages, and JSP pages. Students learn how to use the Page Designer to edit HTML and JSP pages, component test J2EE Web components, and use the export wizards to package J2EE applications. The course also describes the support for the Struts and JSF application frameworks.

Think Thursday , an IBM initiated student chapter is a technical event for computer science students. This Think Thursday session aims at enriching the technical capabilities of students and to make the students familiar with the technologies used in IT industry. Our college, SVECW, took the initiative to be the first among 17 other IBM affiliated COE's to conduct this event.
Think Thursday session was organized on 29th September,2011 in our college. The event started with an introduction on IBM and it's history. Guest lecture was delivered by Mr. Srinivas Varma, Asst. Prof, Dept of IT, SVECW on "Open source technologies".
There was as an active participation of students in JAM(just a minute) and QUIZ events on technical topics. The JAM event was judged by Mr. S. Adinarayana(Associate Prof of Dept of IT) and Mr. P. Janaki Rama Raju(Sr. Assistant Prof of Dept of IT). The winners of the JAM session are M. L. Vineela III CSE (First prize), M.Yasaswani III IT(Second prize), and Asha Teja IV CSE(Third prize).
The quiz competition was held in teams. The judges for this event are Mr. S. Srinivas (Associate Prof,Department of IT), Mr.A.Mohan(Asst. Proffessor, Department of IT). The first prize winners are Susmitha and Sravya,second prize winners are Yasawani and Sindhu, third prize winners are S. Meghana III CSE and K.Kalyani III CSE.
