Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE)

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering of Shri Vishnu Engineering College for Women (SVECW) was established in the academic year 2001-02 with an annual intake of 60. The intake was increased to 120 from the academic year 2004-05. In addition to this, the  department offers M.Tech. Programme with an intake of 18 in the specialization of VLSI Design from the year 2008, UG Programme is accredited by NBA (National Board of Accreditation,AICTE, Delhi) in Tier-I and PG Programme is accredited by NBA (National Board of Accreditation, AICTE, Delhi) in Tier-II.

B.Tech (ECE)

The objective of this programme is to learn the concepts of electronics and communication disciplines and apply them to solve real world problems in the industry. It emphasizes the design of hardware systems as well as communication systems. The students start the programme learning the fundamental concepts of electronics engineering, while doing foundation courses in mathematics and physics in tandem. A student then progresses to study core subjects of electronics such as Analog and Pulse Circuits, Electronic Circuit Analysis, communications courses such as Analog and Digital Communications, Signals and Systems etc. The foundations laid by these basic courses enable students to select various electives that provide them with specialized skill sets.A student successfully completing this programme would be well equipped with necessary skills to either pursue higher studies or work in industry as IC design engineer, Systems engineer, Embedded Systems Design engineer, RF engineer, Wireless/Mobile network engineer etc.

The four-year course that lead to a degree in Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.), adopt a University-mandated semester system of 8 semesters. Each semester is of 16 weeks duration.

M.Tech (VLSI)

The objective of this programme is to provide a student with comprehensive knowledge of VLSI circuits and systems which is essential for electronics chip manufacturing industry. The programme emphasizes the key aspects of hardware design and development for VLSI applications. The prime focus is laid on the areas like VLSI system design, RF circuit design, ASIC design, FPGA based systems design and SOC based design and verification. The VLSI discipline is for design and verification of electronics systems and circuits and its applications are found in areas like signal processing, image processing, networks and communication applications. All R & D organizations involving VLSI Systems Design and Developments.Apart from a bright scope to pursue higher education and research, this specialization can provide excellent placements in leading core companies.

The two-year course that lead to a degree in Master of Technology (M.Tech), adopt a University-mandated semester system of 4 semesters. Each semester is of 16 weeks duration.
