The Academic Council shall have the following powers, duties, namely:

  • To consider matters of academic interest either on its own initiative or at the instance of the Board of Studies and to take proper action thereon.
  • To exercise general supervision over the academic work of the institution that is deemed to be a university and to give direction regarding methods of instruction and evaluation and improvements in academic standards. 
  • To prepare students to meet the needs of emerging technology and industry. 
  • Motivating and guiding students in order to utilize the placement and training activities. 
  • Facilitating and supervising the co-curricular activities for the students. 
  • To stipulate courses of study leading to degree and diploma of the institution. 
  • To plan for the conduct of examinations in conformity with the Bye Laws. 
  • To appoint examiners, moderators, tabulators and such other personnel for different examinations. 
  • To enable proper evidence of diplomas and degrees with other institutions 
  • To mention measures for departmental co-ordination.
